Celebrate Coppell is the city of Coppell, Texas' annual Fourth of July celebration. It always features music and incredible fireworks. This year also featured a spectacular drone show. Unfortunately, I had to chose between photographing the drones or the fireworks, and chose the fireworks. Even though they both took place in the same section of sky, the camera settings are completely different.
We are close enough to Andy Brown Park in Coppell that in year's past we have walked to this event. We are only about a mile away, and there was no sense adding to the traffic. However, due to my Parkinson's, it is a little farther that I can walk. So we drove over to the park early with our wagon of cameras, chairs and other supplies and took advantage of the food trucks for dinner.
First up in the summer heat was the band Time Machine, playing music through the decades.
Headlining the music, from England, were The Molly Ringwalds. The show was all about the 80's.
Finally, there was the fireworks. Every year the show is more spectacular than the prior year, and this was no exception. By the way - none of these pictures are composites. They are all single-frame images. That is how spectacular these fireworks were.
